2009 Major League Baseball All-Star Game | By JAR

The game between the two leagues, the All-Stars of the American League (AL) and the National League (NL), will represent the 80th midseason exposition of the 2009 Major League Baseball All-Star Game; these two constitute the Major League Baseball.

This important game will be held on July 14, 2009 at The Busch Stadium in St Louis, Missouri, home of the National League's St. Louis Cardinals. This game will be the first all star game played in St. Louis since 1966, and will define home field advantage in the 2009 World Series. The home field advantage will be determined for seventh consecutive time year by the all-star Game, with the American League winning all six games to date. The National League leads, 40-37-2, but has not won since 1996.

The cardinals plans were thwarted when they discovered that they would have to use the old park for a Softball field and the parking lot for the game. The hope of the Cardinals was to exhibit its planned Ballpark Village residential and entertainment complex to be used on the site of the previous Busch Memorial Stadium, across the street from the new baseball stadium.

With 8 position players (apart from pitchers and designated hitters) from each of the 30 teams being nominated for fans to vote, the 2009 All-Star Balloting began on April 22nd. Only 25 email ballots can be choose, as with last year, and officially ends at 11:59 ET on July 2nd.

Now the fans have the possibility to vote for up to 3 players per league too. With these votes comes the chance to participate in the State Farm Home Run Derby.
